An American man was found dead in a North Kuta villa yesterday, with police so far unable to find any signs of foul play nor determine his cause of death.

Police said SKC, 62, was found lifeless and naked on his bed by villa staff at 8:20am. Police were soon called to the scene.

“There were no signs of violence on the victim’s body,” North Kuta Police’s Crime Investigation Unit Head Made Purwantara said.

Though this is unlikely to be the victim’s direct cause of death, police noted that SKC was diabetic. When he was found, police said he had blood oozing out of his lips and his foot was bandaged to conceal a wound thought to be related to his diabetes.

In addition, there was also evidence of surgery on his right knee, which was carried out six months ago after he fell in the villa.

Police have not established SKC’s time of death, but noted that witnesses said his body had stiffened when they found him.

The victim’s body was transported to Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar for an autopsy.
