Bali Police are still struggling to uncover who is behind the fake Facebook account impersonating and mocking Bali’s governor.
It was pretty clear from right-off that the account with Governor Made Mangku Pastika’s name and picture was not really him as it posted statuses last week denigrating the Balinese Hindu holiday Nyepi and saying that he took money for his pension in exchange for allowing Benoa Bay’s controversial reclamation to go through.
Unfortunately for Pastika, it’s way too easy to get away with making up shit on Facebook and the investigation looking into the profile has made no significant developments.
Bali Police’s Cyber Crime squad will continue to look into it anyway, even though the fake account has disappeared, a surprisingly optimistic police spokesman Hery Wiyanto said on Tuesday afternoon.
“To date, there has been no progress on the case. But we are optimistic that the Cyber Crime squad will be able to uncover the perpetrator,” Wiyanto told Tribun Bali.
