A thief in Bali’s Kerobokan area turned out to be nice—as far as thieves go.
After stealing the bag of Kadek Listrani, 33, the thief had the woman’s bag delivered back to her house after he had taken out her money and mobile phone.
The bag was stolen on the afternoon of Sunday, August 6, and quickly made its way back to its owner (minus valuables) in her home on Jl. Mertasari, Kerobokan, North Kuta, later that night.
It’s alleged that when the bag was first stolen from the victim’s house, the perpetrator jumped the fence and took the bag from the guest room.
The victim’s son apparently caught a glimpse of the perpetrator fleeing the villa.
North Kuta Police Criminal Investigation Unit Insp. Putu Ika Prabawa said the victim did not report the crime straight away.
“At night, there was an online motorcycle taxi that delivered the victim’s bag. We are still developing testimony from the victim and her children, who had time to see the perpetrator,” Prabawa told Tribun Bali on Sunday.
According to Prabawa, Listrani lost Rp 800k (USD60) in cash from the wallet and her phone, worth Rp 2.5 million (USD187), so an estimated total of Rp 3.3 million (USD247).
“We are on the hunt,” Prabawa said.
