Calling all adventure runners.

A new trail run has launched in Bali that will take you through one of the most beautiful parts of the island, which generally falls off the beaten path because of its distance from the crowded south: West Bali National Park.

There will be no tarmac roads on the course and runners will tread through gorgeous beach and jungle terrain with clear crystal waters and a picturesque mountain range view, according to the organizers on the race’s website.

Set for July 22, the Plataran X-Trail 2017 will take some 500 runners through the preserved area, home to the endangered Bali Starling.

The race will have three categories to cater to different running levels: 50 km, 25 km, and 7.1 km. A “generous” cut-off time of 11 hours will be established.

The start and finish will be at the Plataran L’Harmonie Resort premises, which is about 150 km from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The run is a Candidate Race for the 2018 Asia Trail Master championship series, Asia’s biggest series of trail running races, which is in nearly 20 countries—so you can expect legit runners there.
