The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in Gianyar, Bali arrested a 39-year-old driver, caught carrying a packet of meth.
“The arrest of the suspect, Dwy, originated from a public tip,” BNN Ginanyar Chief Made Pastika said on Thursday, as quoted by Antara Bali.
Pastika says BNN investigated the tip and directly ambushed Dwy directly in front of his house right as the suspect was about to send a packet of meth.
After interrogating Dwy, BNN later raided his home and found 11 more packets of meth, on average weighing 0.20 grams each. The net weight of the meth totaled 0.98 grams, Antara reports.
But it’s not the amount of drugs, but rather the amount of casualties that would be caused by consuming the dangerous drug, Pastika said, taking the opportunity to get in some of Indonesia’s favorite anti-drug rhetoric.
Pastika says the suspect claimed during interrogation that he would have circulated the meth in Denpasar and Gianyar.
BNN Gianyar is still investigating the suspect, but reports say Dwy could face charges carrying a minimum of six years and a max of 20.
