A German woman caused a stir in Bali after a viral video showed her completely naked and disrupting a Balinese dance performance at a temple in Ubud.
The woman, who police identified as 28-year-old Darja Tuschinski, walked up to the stage while the dancers remained calm and professional.
In the full clip sent to Coconuts Bali, Tuschinski climbed the temple stairs and tried to open a door, as a local man attempted to stop her. She then walked down and kneeled in front of the stage, clasping her hands as if in prayer.
She then returns to the stage, where the same man confronts her again.
The censored version of the clip has gone viral on social media, with outraged netizens calling for her deportation.
“The female foreigner went naked on the stage of Saraswati Ubud Temple owned by Tjokorda Ngurah Suyadnya AKA Cok Wah,” Bali Police spokesman Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto told Coconuts Bali.
The official explained the case is currently being investigated by the Ubud Police.
Stefanus revealed that the incident occurred on Monday at around 8pm. Earlier that evening, the woman started an argument with a staff member at the temple’s ticket box before she barged into the dance show and took off her clothes.
The temple’s staff reportedly apprehended Tuschinski before handing her over to the Ubud Police.
Police reported that Tuschinski often walked around naked at Ubud Bungalow, where she stayed. They also discovered that she has been suffering from depression and can no longer afford staying in Bali.
Ubud District Chief I Wayan Widana confirmed to Radar Bali that Tuschinski suffers from mental health issues.
“The German lady has been brought to the Bangli Mental Institution,” Wayan said.
