Earlier this morning, we reported that a young Australian man shockingly died after crashing through a glass door at his Kuta hotel.
More details surrounding Perth man Daniel Evans’ sudden death have since been made public.
Before his death, Evans was getting a tattoo on Wednesday afternoon with his friend Corey Grimshaw, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
Evans finished early and returned to Harris Hotel in Kuta where he had been staying with girlfriend Chelsey Graham.
“He arrived at the hotel a bit drunk,” said Kuta police officer Selamet, as quoted by SMH. According to Selamet, Graham helped Evans sit down on their room’s verandah, but when she went to take her baby inside the room, Evans tried to follow her, lost his balance, and fell through the window, with glass crashing everywhere.
“Daniel fell through a glass window … and cut him self [sic] up he lost a lot of blood and passed away,” Evans’ friend Olivia Branson wrote on Facebook.
Evans was then reportedly rushed to Siloam hospital, but a doctor there suggested he be sent to Sanglah Hospital because of his critical injuries—but he was reportedly pronounced dead once he arrived at Sanglah.
Forensics at Sanglah says they are still waiting for an autopsy for the exact cause of Evans’ death.
