Missing Bali man found dead in Ayung River tree roots

After he was missing for three days, I Nyoman Saramawan, 26, was reportedly found lifeless yesterday at approximately 8 am.

Sarmawan was found facedown, wearing black clothes around the Ayung River, just 100 meters south of the bridge that connects Melinggih Village with Buahan Village in Payagan, Gianyar, Bali, reports Tribun Bali

“The victim was found stuck in tree roots that grow on the banks of the Ayung river,” Payangan Police Chief Anak Agung Wiranata said to Tribun Bali.

Reports say Sarmawan was not from Gianyar, but rather a resident of Lembean Village, Bangli Kintamani. He had reportedly left his home on Thursday evening and never came home, which shocked his family when he never returned for Nyepi on March 21.

The family then frantically did a search and later informed Kintamani police on Sunday. But still no idea yet how he died or what he was doing on the banks of the Ayung.
