A minibus flipped over on the Bali Mandara Toll Road on Saturday, inflicting minor injuries on four Taiwanese passengers.

The bus, heading in the direction of Ngurah Rai from Benoa, lost control and toppled over from traveling too fast on a flat tire, local media is reporting.

Eight Taiwanese tourists had been in the minibus during the accident, that occurred at 5:15pm.

Toll road operator, PT Jasamarga Bali Tol (JBT), confirmed the accident, disclosing that it happened around KM 1,600 on the toll.

“The victims have been given first aid by medical officers. The vehicle in the accident has already been towed to Jimbaran Traffic Police,” JBT spokesman, I Putu Gandi Ginantra, said on Sunday.

Video and photos of the aftermath of the accident have been going around on Bali social media, showing the flipped bus, tons of broken glass, and distraught tourists, huddling on the side of the road.

While another viral photo shows the bus being evacuated out so traffic on the toll could return to smooth-sailing as usual.
