Meth user gets 20 months in Bali prison

A defendant found guilty of using methamphetamine just got handed a 20-month prison sentence for violating the Narcotics Act, reports Tribun Bali

The defendant, Achmad Nugroho, 31, reportedly asked for leniency and expressed regret for his actions in Denpasar court.

The public prosecutor requires meth users to be sentenced for 20 months, reports Tribun. 

Nugroho’s indictment stated that he was arrested in Perum Bali Kencana Resort, Ungasan on August 12 for possession of five packs of meth, weighing 0.39 grams. 

When the officer confronted Nugroho based on a public tip, Nugroho allegedly confessed that he purchased his illicit goods from someone named Komang Arya at an ATM in front of Pia Legong.
