Mayweather vs. McGregor: Where to watch the big ‘Money Fight’ in Bali, by neighborhood

Live from Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor will be facing off on Saturday night for one epic showdown. Dubbed the “Money Fight,” this will be one for the books since we’re getting eleven-time five-division professional boxing world champ, Mayweather out of retirement to take on current UFC Lightweight Champion, McGregor.

Mayweather wasn’t kidding when he said in March: “If Conor McGregor really wants this fight to happen, stop blowing smoke up everybody’s ass. Sign the paper. Sign the paper. You said you were boss, just sign the paper and let’s make it happen.”

As its name suggests, the fight sure is hyped up and is a huge money-making op, prompting critics to speculate that Mayweather, an unapologetic domestic abuser, is merely cashing in on the spectacle and that McGregor’s going to get “pantsed”.

With one sports analyst even saying: “It’s an embarrassing thing for both sports.

“It’s like Donald Trump’s entire business career: a short-sighted, poorly-done money grab,” says Daniel Roberts, who has covered Mayweather extensively for Deadspin.

That said, we’re still curious to watch it go down and don’t feel overly terrible if you are too.

With the time difference, the fight will kick off Sunday morning at 9am in Bali, local time. We advise you to double check with the venue you decide on watching the action at, as some require reservations ahead of time and recommended arrival times seem to vary slightly by venue.

Without further ado, we break it down where you can watch the fight on the island, by Bali’s biggest hoods:

KUTA: Hard Rock

You can be darn straight that Hard Rock, right on Kuta Beach, will be broadcasting the fight. Free entrance with the option to buy into their breakfast buffet, it’s going to be an exciting spot to be at. Bali Hai beer is buy 1, get 1.

YOUR CRIB/FRIEND’S CRIB

While some folks around the world have to pay hefty pay-per-view charges that could amount to as much as $100 to watch the big faceoff, here in Indonesia, local network TVOne has the rights to air the fight and will broadcast it for the public, so you can watch it from your couch. Just stock up on Bintangs and you’ll be set.

You can also supposedly stream it online here through VIVA, but remember, technology can be touchy in Bail, especially in the moments you need it most.

A beautiful skull and a beautiful belt to add to my collection of skulls and belts.
