Police have charged an Indonesia masseur in Bali with sexual harassment after he was accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old Australian during a massage in Kuta.
The boy had gone for a massage with his mother and grandmother on Saturday at Damen Massage, a Kuta massage parlor, but was taken to a separate room where the alleged harassment happened.
The masseur, Abdurahman asked to the boy to strip, touched the boy’s genitals, and pulled down his own pants, according to Kuta Police Chief I Wayan Sumara.
“Then the victim got up and hurried out, and called his mother and his grandma,” Sumara said, as quoted by ABC Australia.
What’s even more disturbing is that the 47-year-old allegedly told police during interrogation that he had intended to rape the 12-year-old and had committed similar offenses on 15 other occasions.
The charges Abdurahman is facing could land him between five and 15 years behind bars.
The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says the boy and his family are receiving consular assistance.
