Be careful when parking your motorbikes, even when you’re in a closed garage.
A local news story out of Tabanan reminds us of how easily motorbikes can be stolen.
A Yamaha Jupiter was stolen out of a kos in Delod Peken Village early on Monday morning.
I Kadek Arianta alias Kadek Anta, 32, took the bike from another boarder at his girlfriend’s kos, according to Tabanan City Police Chief Ida Bagus Putera.
The couple went down to the kos garage around 4 am and when the place was deserted, they seized the opportunity to take the Jupiter, as well as remove a wallet with money and a phone from under the seat of a Honda Vario parked at the kos.
But lucky for the motorbike’s real owner, Anta and his girlfriend didn’t get away with it.
“It was reported at 12:30 pm. After doing a crime scene and questioning several witnesses, the witness information lead to the perpetrators, who were known to be at the boarding house until morning. Officers conducted a search into his home and found the missing motorbike there. The perps were directly secured by police,” Putera said on Monday, as quoted by Tribun Bali.
“The perpetrator admitted to taking a motorbike because he did not have his own vehicle. Two of his vehicles had been pawned off for wasting money at a ‘cafe’”, he added.
