A 27-year-old man who can only be described as suffering from fragile masculinity was apprehended by the West Denpasar Police for assaulting a woman for agreeing to his wish of breaking up with her.

West Denpasar Police Chief I Made Hendra Agustina said today that the man, MK, was apparently annoyed when 22-year-old IBC agreed with his request to end their relationship.

“The suspect wanted to break up and the victim accepted it. The next day, the suspect looked for the victim at her workplace because he was annoyed that the request was granted,” Made Hendra said.

To the police, MK said he suspected that IBC cheated on him, which explains why the breakup on May 26 was easy for her. The victim has denied the infidelity accusation.

According to the police, on May 27, MK waited until IBC finished working at around 9pm and tailed her home. When they reached Teuku Umar Street, MK suddenly kicked IBC’s leg and punched her face.

IBC reportedly suffered injuries on her left forehead, eyes, and lips.

Under Indonesian law, MK could spend up to 5 years and 6 months behind bars for assault.
