Man arrested for selling fake drugs to Kuta tourists

A man apparently testing the placebo effect on Kuta tourists was arrested on Tuesday in Denpasar for selling “artificial drugs.”

Deta, alias Limbad was busted in his kos in Sesetan, Denpasar with two packets of white powder weighing 0.68 grams, five white tablets, 10 thick leaves and dried seeds weighing 24.96 grams, and one black bundled package weighing 3.49 grams, reports Tribun Bali.

The 50-year-old long-haired man admitted that he had spent the last year selling fake drugs in Kuta.

“It’s been a year, usually selling to foreign tourists,” Limbad said in a Denpasar police offcie, as quoted by Tribun.

Limbad said he used to peddle his counterfeit good around the streets of Kuta at night because of the large number of tourists passing on the street.

However, after a number of reports of drugs being sold in the area, I Gede Ganefo of the Denpasar police narcotics division says they were able to bust Limbad.

But police were surprised to find out the drugs were actually fake. We can’t wait to learn more about how police will handle Limbad’s case differently from your typical Bali drug cases.
