A man from East Java was arrested in Bali for catching fish in a conservation area.
Kusaini, 36, from Banyuwangi, was taken into custody by the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) Bali on Sunday, reports Tribun Bali.
The only activities done in these protected waters should be for research and education, the operations team leader for forest police (Polhut), Ketut Darmika told Tribun on Thursday.
Darmika says Kusaini was arrested along with another friend, but his friend managed to escape.
Kusaini himself reportedly claims he had no idea fishing was prohibited in the area.
