Malindo Air has launched its new Bali-Brisbane route.

The inaugural flight took off on March 31 and is actually a link in its new Brisbane-KL route via Denpasar.

The daily service is Malindo’s second destination in Australia, following its flights to Perth.

“We are delighted to launch the only service between Kuala Lumpur and Brisbane, with a stop on the famous island of Bali,” said CEO of Malindo Air, Chandran Rama Muthy, as quoted by Bernama.

Malindo is a subsidiary of Indonesia’s Lion Group, but headquartered in Malaysia.

The growing airline is aiming for a target of 10 million passengers for 2017, says Ramdas Shivram, general manager sales and business development for Malindo Air.

To achieve its ambitious goal, Shivram says the airline is working to open a new route from KL to Yogyakarta and KL to Lombok, with target dates in December 2017.
