A local resident in Singaraja, Buleleng is not taking any crap from his kepala desa (village head).
I Nyoman Legawa, 52, took his lawyer to the district attorney’s office in Singaraja on Thursday.
What had Legawa so up in arms? None other than his fruit trees.
Legawa claims that the kepala desa of his village, identified as IMS, had someone cut 12 of his mango, jackfruit, and kutuh trees from his garden, according to Tribun Bali.
The tree was within his garden, not on the street, Legawa says.
He says he reported the incident last year, on March 17, 2014, but until now there’s been no legal recourse.
The disgruntled villager apparently suspects the case was never followed up because of IMS’s closeness with the district attorney.
It may just be 12 trees, but Legawa says he sees this as an unfair legal process and IMS needs to learn a lesson, to humble his arrogance and experience fairness. He also says he feels sorry that his village has a leader like this.
Legawa was asked to come back the next day by Singaraja district attorney staff.
