The body of a 7-month-old was found dead on the side of the street in the Susut sub-district of Bangli regency in Bali yesterday. Now, the local police are reportedly conducting an investigation to identify and locate the baby’s parents.

The baby, who has been identified as a boy, was already dead by the time he was found by a local resident of Sulahan Village in Susut. The infant was not wrapped in any cloth and some parts of his skin looking chafed, Tribun-Bali reported.

“When he was found, the baby still had his umbilical cord,” Made Ariawan from the Susut Police told Tribun-Bali.

The body was later brought to Sanglah General Hospital for an autopsy.

As reported by Bali Post, authorities are investigating the area and questioning village residents on women who might have had a baby recently. Ariawan told the media outlet that they are also checking surveillance cameras around the area.
