The Denpasar-Bali provincial government is eyeing new construction plans to deal with sucky traffic near the airport.
To break down congestion at that Ngurah Rai-Bypass-Mandara Toll roundabout in Tuban, Bali local government is reportedly working on plans to build an underpass.
However, though the idea is there, local authorities apparently have not disclosed when this plan would be realized. So it could be like ten to a 100 years out.
The most we’ve heard about any timeline on this is that a feasibility study for the underpass is currently being made, which is targeted for completion by the end of the year, says Head of Bali Public Works Nyoman Astawa Riadi, as reported by Industri Bisnis.
“It has been very crowded, so it would be better to have an underpass to make things run more smoothly,” Vice Governor Ketut Sudikerta said on Monday to Industri Bisnis.
That roundabout is known for its dense traffic, so adding a underpass could really thin it out, Head of Bali Department of Transportation and Information Ketut Artika also told Industri Bisnis.
These underpass news comes shortly after the government has announced other traffic busting ambitions to build over 100 km of toll connecting Kuta to Gilimanuk and Lovina.
