Lil Wayne mistook petrol for vodka while in Bali, jokes viral post

Lil Wayne was popping bottles during a trip to Bali. Bottles of petrol, jests a post that’s now gone viral on Facebook.

The post, published to Facebook by Gopal Setyawan back in January 2016, tells of how American rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr—better known as Lil Wayne—was enjoying some drinks during a year-end holiday in Bali.

“His face looked worn-out after a day of traveling and enjoying the beach scene with his rented motorbikes,” Setyawan wrote in his post, going on to quote what he claims he heard the “Jamaican” American rapper say (even though Lil Wayne is actually from New Orleans).

“It’s really nice to be here. The atmosphere and the scenery are nice, the people are also very friendly, but there’s a lot of traffic here. I heard every New Year that there are always traffic jams. But as long as I go by motorbike, I can avoid traffic jams, but the air is so hot.”

Then Setywan gets to the punchline: “Really hot, but luckily they sell drinks on the side of every road. It’s so nice that I can easily find vodka sellers with such a cheap price, although the taste is a bit strange in my opinion. But it’s okay for the price of only Rp 8,000. You get a bit dizzy and nauseated.”

Gasoline is commonly sold by the liter on the side of the road in Indonesia, often in Absolut vodka bottles.

While we can hardly trust that this every really happened and the accompanying photo on the post has got to be a fake, the story of Lil Wayne drinking petrol on the side of the road in Bali sure makes for a good laugh.
