Lembongan Beach Club & Resort addresses fire

There’s nothing like your resort burning down to ruin a vacation in “paradise.”

A fire that broke out yesterday morning on Nusa Lembongan, a small island just to the east of Bali, has guests relocating from Lembongan Beach Club & Resort to a neighboring villa, according to a statement from the hotel.

Thankfully the statement notes that the there were no serious injuries from the March 1 fire, with guests making it out okay and employee suffering a minor injury.

Judging by the photo of gigantic flames engulfing the resort and the resort’s statement that they will be closed for the foreseeable future, it seems this fire wrought a lot of destruction, with some folks claiming in the Bali Expats Facebook group that half of the hotel was destroyed in the fire.

The statement circulating on social media was signed by General Manager Joaquin Medina and Jenica Tjendana.

Fortunately for those who already have bookings, the statements says that the hotel hasn’t forgotten guests with upcoming reservations and will contact them about refunds or making new accommodation arrangements.
