This morning’s rush hour was abruptly interrupted when a middle-aged Indonesian woman reportedly bolted naked through the streets of Denpasar, prompting an unlikely pursuit by several motorcyclists and a local security guard.
The woman, who is thought to be around 40 years old, apparently left her home, a city-center boarding house, wearing nothing but a piece of blue cloth wrapped around her body. Onlookers say that after running around 15 meters, the fabric drape fell, leaving her in a state of complete nudity, Liputan6 reports.
Despite being buck naked, she continued to sprint through the traffic, bringing a state of chaos to Friday’s normally routine commute. Several motorcyclists and local residents are said to have taken up chase, trailing the streaker for some time before a security guard eventually managed to catch her. The situation was finally diffused when a female onlooker arrived on the scene with a cloth to cover the woman up.
Buk Dewa was among the bemused local residents at the scene, commenting to Liputan6, “I don’t know the person. I only saw what was happening when the crowds gathered. It happened near my house.”
The lady, who is apparently from East Java, is suspected of having a mental disorder.
