Klungkung police find meth in car during raid targeting weapons

In a supposedly random checkpoint stopping vehicles going through the Lepang intersection on Wednesday in Banajarangkan, Klungkung, police apparently happened upon a car transporting meth.

The raid had not been targeting drugs, but rather the entrance of weapons into Klungkung, specifically anticipating firearms, blade weapons, and possibly explosives.

It was around 12:30 am when the raid conducted by 25 Klungkung Police officers stopped a car driven by Made SU, 35, that allegedly contained two packages of meth. Officers additionally found Rp 9.45 million cash on the driver, reports Tribun Bali.

When asked about the suspected meth, SU said it didn’t belong to him and he had just been borrowing the car—standard safe answer.

Of course police decided to investigate deeper and took him into the Klungkung police station.

Klungkung Narcotics Unit Chief Wastu Andri said his team is still working on the investigation and will check out SU’s home in Karangasem for further examination.
