Now that the rains have come (slowly, but they’ve come), Klungkung’s vice regent is appealing to the public to hati-hati as the regency has a history of landslides.
“When the rainy season is like this, Klungkung is prone to landslides. I hope people living in the landslide-prone areas are more vigilant,” I Made Kasta said on Thursday, as quoted by Tribun Bali.
Caste referenced Nusa Penida in particular as needing to be on alert, as local residents there were recently killed during a landslide from the limestone cliffs. Other villages mentioned by him were Banjarangkan in Timuhun, Bungbungan, and Nyalian villages.
