An 18-year-old girl from Satra Village, Klungkung, Bali, reported her father to authorities on Sunday afternoon after he allegedly got physically violent.
“We received the report yesterday, on Sunday. The girl reported her father, because she is a victim of domestic violence,” I Nyoman Sarjana, a spokesman for Klungkung regency said on Monday, as quoted by Tribun Bali.
The incident apparently began when Ni Dewa Ayu Sasri, 18, and her younger sibling, Dewa Ketut Andra Suputra, 13, were asked by their father, Dewa Made Sanjaya, 50, for a massage.
For no apparent reason, Sanjaya allegedly lashed out at his two kids, kicking them down, according to Tribun Bali.
Blatantly afraid of their father’s violent outburst, Sasri and Suputra fled their home with Sanjaya tailing them, but their neighbor, Dewa Made Wahyu Candra, was reportedly able to block him. Candra even reportedly took a blow from Sanjaya, before he was able to calm him down.
The case is being handled further by Klungkung Police.
