Kiwi uni student propositions professor and wife for ‘sex in Bali,’ gets suspended

A University of Auckland student has been suspended after emailing her married lecturer, asking “Would you like to have sex in Bali?”.

To be fair, the 30-year-old student apparently extended the invitation to both her professor and his wife, in case they would be open to such exploration.

However, the professor wasn’t so keen and forwarded the email to his boss, which ultimately led to the university suspending the student until next year on sexual harassment charges, reports the New Zealand Herald.

The student says she intends to appeal her suspension and that her email was a straightforward yet risqué, non-threatening request, that she had only sent once.

The letter was reportedly sent in March and reportedly read:  “It’s rather forward of me but I wondered if you and your wife are the open, experimental type?

“Bali Indonesia rendevous [sic] in July if you are interested. I’ve made a booking for a week here before I go diving in the komodo islands 🙂 I’d like to spend the week getting to know you intimately.”

She added that her lecturer only need not to respond if he was not into it: “No need to compute a rejection letter! And I would never expect you to be unfair, I’m happy to wait until after the exam.”

Looks like she’ll be taking that holiday to Bali by herself (but hey, who knows, there are probably plenty of experimental couples here seeking that extra plus-one)!
