The New Zealand man accused of acting as a drug courier for an international drug ring is expected to check into the “Hotel K,” Bali’s infamous Kerobokan Prison, later this week.
Kiwi Antony de Malmanche has been in custody since December 1, 2014 when police allege he tried to bring in 1.7 kilograms of meth into Bali from a Hong Kong flight.

De Malmanche’s lawyer, Craig Tuck says the move to Kerobokan will signify that police have finished their investigation, a big move no doubt in his case, reports New Zealand’s One News.
If de Malmanche is found guilty of trafficking drugs, he would likely get the death penalty.
His trial is supposed to begin within a month, according to One News.
The 52-year-old kiwi’s defense team is getting creative and arguing that de Malmanche is a “trafficked person” not a “drug trafficker,” and did not know he was carrying the drugs for an international cartel.
De Malmanche has said he was supposed to meet his internet girlfriend Jessie, who never actually showed up and he believes manipulated him.
