Bali’s notorious Kerobokan Prison is seriously overcrowded.
Head of the Bali office of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, I Gusti Kompiang Adnyana, says Kerobokan Prison Class IIA has an excess capacity of up to 300 percent, reports Tribun Bali.
The prison’s actual capacity is 332 people, but there are around 1,060 inmates incarcerated there, Adnyana told Tribun on Monday. Yikes. Maybe all the sabu cases are taking up all the space?
But this overcapacity problem is not just in Kerobokan—Adnyana says prisons throughout Bali are having the same issue of having more inmates than they can handle.
“Virtually all prisons and jails in Bali are over capacity,” he said.
