Police said a man who missed his flight at Ngurah Rai Airport assaulted two security guards and a police officer out of apparent frustration.

Denpasar Police spokesman Ketut Sukadi today outlined an incident that occurred at the airport’s domestic terminal on Tuesday. According to Ketut, the culprit, a 38-year-old Jordanian who is identified by the initials MD and resides in Tangerang, was at the waiting room with his party of eight to board an afternoon flight to Jakarta.

MD and his party claimed to have never heard the boarding call. When he asked an airport employee about the status of his flight, he was upset after having learned that it had taken off without him.

“The flight took off without the party of eight, even though they had been at the Gate 5 waiting room before the plane flew,” Ketut said.

A livid MD demanded to see somebody at the airline’s airport office, but was prevented entry by two security guards and an airport cop. Ketut said MD punched one security guard in the back of the neck, and the other two in the face.

A video has gone viral showing the commotion at the terminal during the assault.

Both parties eventually agreed not to press charges. MD and his party got on a flight to Jakarta the next morning.
