If you are spending your New Year’s Eve in Kuta or Legian you better prepare for a macet nightmare.
Starting at 4 pm today, Jl. Legian, Jl. Pantai Kuta, and Jl. Melasti will be completely shutdown and beginning at 2 pm, all vehicles will be removed from those three roads, according to Tribun Bali.
But just because the roads will be cleared of vehicles doesn’t mean they’ll be clear: you can expect them to be totally congested with pedestrians.
That kind of puts travelers in a bind if they come to the beach after 4 pm with large suitcases, but apparently it’s not worth stressing over because porters will be available to lug your bags and suitcases until your hotel.
However, costs vary depending on distance and weight of the goods so if you want to use a porter, best you negotiate, said a man securing the area, Kadek Wiadyana, to Tribun Bali.
