The Australian low cost carrier has announced that it will service nonstop flights between Cairns, Australia and Bali starting from March 31 next year, reports the Cairns Post.
Jetstar will reportedly offer this service three times a week with fares starting from $99 one-way, which will make for over 50,000 seats a year traveling between the two destinations on 180 seat Airbus A320 aircraft. Flights from Cairns are scheduled to depart on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while flights to Bali should operate Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays, according to the Cairns Post.
“We know from airport research and our own bookings that there are plenty of Cairns travellers interested in a direct service to Bali,” said Jetstar Australia and New Zealand chief executive David Hall, as quoted by the Cairns Post.
“Bali is consistently rated as one of Cairns residents’ most popular unserved destinations and we know our low fares will appeal to families and groups of friends looking for a tropical getaway.
These cheap flights should play a part in helping Bali reach its goal of welcoming in a whopping 4 million tourists in 2015.
