International departures from Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport up by 6.28 percent

Changes at Ngurah Rai International Airport are more than just cosmetic. 

The Denpasar airport’s international flight departures grew by 6.28 percent compared to March last year, reports Antara

That 6.28 percent may not sound like much, but it’s the equivalent of 2,005 flights with 315,149 passengers, says Panusunan Siregar, the Bali head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

Bali’s already a major tourist destination, but it only seems to be increasingly popular. In April 2015, as much as 313,763 foreign tourists visited, consisting of over 309,000 travelers coming through Ngurah Rai Airport and 3,875 coming by way of boat.
