Infant’s body found dumped at North Bali beach

The body of a baby boy was found at Penarukan Beach in Singaraja on Tuesday, apparently dumped.

The infant is believed to have been abandoned just a few hours after birth.

“The baby’s skin was still red, the umbilical cord and placenta were still attached, and the baby was not wrapped up. It has just been born since when it was found it was tender, maybe born just two hours before being discarded,” Singaraja city police chief I Nyoman Suarnata said, as quoted by Tribun Bali

This is not the first time a baby has been found thrown out at this particular beach. Tribun Bali speculates that the beach’s location has something to do with it. Jl. Natuna, the road leading up to the beach has several karaoke cafes and the beach has something of a reputation as a hookup spot for young couples.
