Plans to roll out over 100 kilometers of toll road in Bali would mean the island would have Indonesia’s longest toll road, if realized.
PT Wastika Karya, the construction contractor on the Waskita Toll Road (WTR) project, is reportedly getting more serious about this mega toll project that would apparently have a length of 125 kilometers, beating out the country’s current longest one, Java’s 116-kilometer-long toll, Cipali.
The big Bali toll would be made up of four segments, connection Kuta-Canggu-Tanah Lot-Soka (28 kilometers), Soka-Pekutatan (25.1 kilometers), Pekutatan-Gilimanuk (54.4 kilometers), and Pekutatan-Lovina (46.7 kilometers).
WTR’s finance director, Feri Purwadi, met with Bali’s governor Made Mangku Pastika on Oct. 5 to discuss the project and its role in bettering Bali’s infrastructure.
“Bali has become a priority for toll road investment. We will set up a provincial company in Bali,” Purwadi said on Monday, as quoted by Merdeka.
Pastika, along with deputy governor Ketut Sudikerta were reportedly pleased with the meeting and requested from Purwadi a more concrete time frame for the toll.
