An Indonesian woman authorities described as an influencer was arrested in Denpasar for alleged “pornographic action,” which police said involved live-streaming obscene acts on social media for money.
Denpasar Police spokesman I Ketut Sukadi said the suspect, identified as 22-year-old RR, has been going live on a social media app called Mango Live for the past nine months.
“The profit she gained from the live job is approximately IDR30 million (US$2,104), every time she goes live she gets about IDR1.5 million (US$105),” Sukadi said during a press conference last week.
According to reports, RR was arrested for appearing naked in live streaming sessions. Online, she uses an account named “Kuda Poni,” meaning pony horse, and reportedly has thousands of followers.
When she goes live, police said she would often be seen masturbating in front of her audience.
RR was arrested at an apartment in Denpasar last Friday. She has been charged with violation of articles under the 2008 Pornography Law and the Information and Electronic Transactions Act (UU ITE), which carry a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.
This article has been updated to include details about RR’s possible punishment under her charges.
