Indian tourists are loving Bali for vacay

Bali is clearly a favorite with tourists, but it’s becoming more and more popular for Indian vacay goers in particular.

Just in January and February this year, the number of Indian tourists to Bali has increased by a whopping 47.52 percent, to an impressive 17,400 people, according to data from the provincial tourism office, published by the Jakarta Post

Those in the tourism industry say the influx of Indian visitors is a sign of good relations between India and Indonesia, as well as the shared Hindu culture and religion for many Indians and Balinese (reportedly coupled with amped up targeted marketing).

“Hinduism is a religion that is growing in India and Bali. The people from both places find spiritual and cultural connections through Hinduism,” said Made Sudana, who has his hand in the tourism industry, as quoted by Antara

Sudana also said while the common culture is a pull factor for Indian tourists, the difference in development of Hinduism in Bali is also something intriguing for them.
