Suspected Indian fugitive arrested upon landing in Bali

An Indian fugitive was reportedly arrested on Sunday by police at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport — but there has been confusion about his identity.

Some media report that it was gangster Chhota Rajan, who has been on the run for decades. Others say it was serial killer Mohan Kumar better known as ‘Cyanide Mohan’.

Whoever it was, he arrived in Bali on a Garuda flight from Sydney that landed at 1:50 pm, but he didn’t have the chance to party in Kuta or relax over in Sanur like many of Bali’s visitors do, as he was reporteldy detained upon landing.

Denpasar District Police detective Reinhard Nainggolan told AAP that the suspect was taken into custody after Australian Federal Police alerted them about an Interpol red notice for the man’s arrest.

Police say they are working on the man’s situation with the Indian Consulate General and Indonesian National Police.
