Indian fugitive stranded in Bali, deportation on hold since airport’s closed

Looks like we’re stuck with an Indian fugitive wanted for over two dozen murders, just a tad longer in Bali.

Officials announced that Indian man Rajendra Nikalje also known as Chhota Rajan would be set for deportation from Bali late Tuesday night, but that didn’t happen since Bali’s airport has been shutdown due to unsafe flying conditions, according to Tribun Bali

Ngurah Rai International Airport will be shutdown until at least Nov. 5 at 8:45 am because of volcanic ash blowing over our way from neighboring island Lombok’s Mt. Barujari (Rinjani).

When Nikalje is finally deported back to India he’ll face charges for those over two dozen murders. He’s been on Interpol’s most wanted list since 1995, under suspicion of running a crime syndicate responsible for fun stuff like extortion, arms smuggling, and contract killing.

Based on a tip from interpol, he was stopped and arrested in Bali after landing from a Sydney flight on Oct. 25.
