Human remains were mysteriously found at South Bali’s Melasti Beach on Monday.

South Kuta Police shared the finding with the press on Wednesday.

“We handled the discovery of an unidentified human body found on May 29. We immediately followed up the report,” South Badung Police Chief Comr. I Nengah Patrem said, as quoted by Tribun Bali.

“We have coordinated with the Badung Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). The body has been sent to Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar,” he added.

Police believe the deceased may be the victim of a murder and are conducting an investigation.

“To confirm the identity of the skull, we are still awaiting the results of the forensic autopsy from Sanglah Hospital,” South Kuta Police Insp. Muhamad Nurul Yaqin told Radar Bali.

Local resident Suwumini, 60, spotted a skull around 4pm on Monday when she was looking for seaweed, Patrem said.

On the body was reportedly a pair of gray jeans with a black belt, silver jacket, and green flip flops.
