Indonesia’s Golkar party has elected Setya Novanto as its new chairman during the Munaslub conference that was held in Nusa Dua over the weekend.
Not only did Novanto just catch our attention when he jerked back to life during a moment of silence that was broadcasted live, he also got himself into hot water in 2015 when he made an appearance as Speaker of the House supporting Donald Trump. Then there was also that time he got reported to the Ethics Council for a certain Freeport fiasco.
This guy sure doesn’t shy away from attention. Guess we’ll have to see what he does next in his new position of power.
