Group wearing black shirts ‘attacks’ Golkar Party meeting in Bali

Like something out of the hit TV show Scandal, an Indonesian political party’s meeting in Bali was reportedly “attacked” by a group of people wearing black shirts.

The attackers of the Golkar Party’s Bali provincial branch held by the Agung Laksono faction were allegedly supporters of the rival Aburizal Bakrie faction, according to the Jakarta Post.

At the Aston Hotel in Denpasar venue, the attackers reportedly tore down banners and dozens of riot police officers were sent to the scene, though the Jakarta Post report does not specify whether things actually took a violent turn.

Kompas reports that today’s meeting ended up being cancelled after all the commotion and because of security concerns.

No arrests were reportedly made.
