Get your visit in to Tanah Lot, ticket prices expected to go up (a little)

If you have a trip to Tanah Lot temple planned, there’s no time like the present (but you don’t really need to rush it).

Bali tourism officials are talking about raising the admission price because it’s pretty low relative to other tourism hot spots in Indonesia like Borobudur and Bromo where you can pay much more than IDR100,000 or even IDR200,000.

“We recognize the entrance (to Tanah Lot) is still low compared to other areas such as Borobudur,” said Operations Manager of Regional Tourism Destinations (DTW) Ketut Toya Adnyana to Tribun Bali.

Adnyana also said the local price is IDR10,000 while the price for foreigners is IDR30,000 (which if you’ve traveled around Indonesian parks, you know that’s on the cheap side for such a major attraction).

Changing the price is still currently under discussion within DTW, but prices are not really expected to spike up by that much. The planned prices are about IDR15,000-20,000 for locals and IDR50,000-60,000 for foreign tourists, says Adnyana. Compared to BBMnaik, we don’t exactly think this is anything worth fussing over, though when you look at it, it is more than a 50 percent increase.

However, DTW is still not apparently sure when this price change would happen.
