One man up in north Bali is in police custody after ordering liquor in the company of a prostitute.. with counterfeit rupiah.
Putu Agus Ariyanto of Kalisada Village in Buleleng, Bali was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, reports Tribun Bali.
The 38-year-old man was arrested after being accused of distributing IDR600,000 worth of counterfeit cash.
When he was with the prostitute and ordering the liquor, he allegedly used the fake money for his transactions. But Ariyanto did not stop there. He also reportedly went to the gas station and tried to pay with an IDR100,000 bill.
However, the gas station clerk refused because he could tell that something was off with the money. From there, Ariyanto was immediately reported to police who confiscated bills indicating a value of IDR1,000,000 (though not worth that much).
Buleleng police say they are still in the process of investigating Ariyanto.
