The morgue in Denpasar’s Sanglah Hospital conducted an examination on the body of a French man on Thursday.
Identified as French man Cristian Marcel Ceteloly, 48, in a Tribun Bali report, the man was reportedly found dead in a hotel in the Kuta area on Wednesday afternoon.
From the results of an external examination, the head of forensics at Sanglah, Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Alit told Tribun that there were no clear indications of violence on Ceteloly’s body.
Alit says there’s speculation that the man died from poisoning but he cannot confirm or deny whether it’s so, since his team has yet to perform an autopsy.
“From an external examination, we did not find any signs of toxicity on his body,” Alit explained, but said they can’t be sure without the autopsy.
Forensics reportedly must wait for approval from the police and consent from the man’s family to move forward with the autopsy.
