A Frenchman has been arrested by Kuta Police after he was caught on CCTV stealing a McDonald’s employee’s motorbike from outside the fast food restaurant.
The McDonald’s employee had unfortunately left the keys in his Honda Vario, apparently making it an easy target for the 22-year-old French national.
“The perp says his motive for taking the victim’s motorbike was just as a joke,” Kuta Police Commissioner Wayan Semara told Tribun Bali.
The Frenchman is facing charges that carry a max penalty of five years behind bars, reports say.
As soon as the fast food worker noticed his bike missing, he reported it and CCTV footage was ultimately found to have recorded the theft.
“After several days of investigation, it was found that the perp who took the victim’s motorbike is a French national staying at Villa Joglo. The victim’s motorbike was parked in the courtyard of the villa. When interrogated, the offender admitted he took the bike,” Semara said on Wednesday.
