Numerous flights into Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport were canceled last night in the wake of the latest eruption of the tourist mecca’s mercurial Mount Agung.

According to Indonesia’s Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center, the eruption occurred at 7:23pm yesterday and lasted for four and a half minutes, sending ash and rock as high as 2,500 meters above the volcano’s peak.

The Associated Press has reported that while lava and rocks landed as far away as 3 kilometers from the volcano, the national disaster agency will not be raising the alert level or exclusion zone around the volcano.

While Mount Agung is still considered to be in a “dynamic” state, MAGMA Indonesia said they have not seen what they consider to be warning signs of a “major eruption.”
