Fire nearly takes down timber business in Jembrana, Bali

A timber businessman estimates he suffered about Rp 25 million in losses from a fire that almost burned down his whole business on Monday.

The fire, in Banyubiru Village, Jembrana, was allegedly caused by a short circuit in I Wayan Polen’s engine, reports Tribun Bali

The fire occurred around 3 pm just before the 49-year-old returned home from working at the Jembrana District Health Office.

An aggravating factor for the fire was reportedly the 15 liters of diesel fuel that was in the engine. To make matters worse, the fire could spread quickly with all the wood in the place.

With help from firefighters, the fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes.

Fortunately reports say there were not injuries in the fire.
