Bali woke up shocked to realize that flames engulfed Pasar Ubud earlier this morning
Oh course one of the first things we thought of is how this fire comes right on the heels of the flames that devastated Denpasar’s Pasar Badung, Bali’s biggest and oldest traditional market, and another recent fire at a Legian pasar in January 2016.
Upon news of the fire, Pusdalops BPBD (the information manager of the regional disaster management agency) Denpasar deployed three fire engines to the pasar.
Head of BPBD Denpasar’s Technical Services Unit I Gusti Ngurah Gede Budhita told Tribun Bali that as many as 24 BPBD Denpasar personnel have been deployed, starting from 5:40 am.
Meanwhile, netizens have been posting raw photos, reacting to the shock of the fire, to online forums like the Facebook group Ubud Community.
This is a developing story and we will post more updates to our site as we learn more.
