The parents of a 12-year-old girl from Buleleng regency have accused an 18-year-old man of sexual assaulting their daughter after finding disturbing messages on her phone.
The victim, identified as PA by Bali Express, finally told her parents about the sexual assault last week, after her father found a number of messages showing that she was invited by an 18-year-old, identified as FA by Bali Express, to come to his house.
“Maybe she was afraid. I asked her patiently, and finally she admitted. She said she was assaulted one time,” PA’s father, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Bali Express yesterday.
According to PA’s father, he went to FA’s house to confront him and the latter admitted his alleged crime, arguing that it was FA was who kept coming to visit him.
“But there’s the proof of text messages. The perpetrator often led my daughter on to make her come and visit him,” PA’s father said.
He added that he has filed a report to the police in Buleleng, and handed over a number of pieces of evidence, including the text messages and items of clothing belonging to PA. In addition, Bali Express reported that PA has undergone a medical examination at the local hospital in the regency.
As of yesterday, spokesman for the Buleleng Police, Iptu Sumarjaya, said he has yet to receive a report on the alleged sexual assault.
